Lent is a solemn religious observance in the liturgical calender of many christian denominations that begins on Ash Wednesday and covers a period of approximately six weeks before Easter day.The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer through prayer, penance, repentance of sins, alms-giving,atonement` and self-denial. Its institutional purpose is heightened in the annual commemoration of holy week, marking the death, burial and resurrection, which recalls the tradition and events of the New Testament beginning on Friday of sorrows, further climaxing on Jesus' Crucifixion on Good Friday, which ultimately culminates in the joyful celebration on Easter Sunday of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Hope you understood the grammar. Its just the formal definition of lent according to encyclopedia. But the way i see it, lent is a period to observe,to reason, to see as things dey go.What are those habits? What are those addictions that are causing or might cause bad things to happen . You know them, i don't. This period called lent is a time to re consider your ways. Its a time to say NO to them. When you say NO, it should be total and final. I don't know what they are but don't you think life is too short and beautiful. The earlier the better. Take full advantage of this period and you will be glad you did. JESUS IS LORD.
